Shine Under the Sunshine: Sun protection do’s and don’ts

Learn the techniques!

Life is simply not complete without sunscreen, and that’s something we must all remember.

Living in the Philippines means living with a very warm temperature, and lots of sweat and ickyness to bear on our skin. One of the best solutions to this is to have your favorite sunscreen (and of course, it should be the GWTG Sun Stick) with you! It is also undeniable that a lot of us loves to travel around the best places in the country, especially during the summertime. And the most appropriate thing to do is to protect ourselves from the sun and all the ultraviolet rays using our sunscreen.

As sunscreens are important in our day-to-day lives, it is a must for us to remember these do’s and don’ts on applying sun protection on our skin!

  • Do apply your sunscreen every day

Oh dear, we think we have already said this countless of times but we’ll say it again! Make sure to apply sunscreen for sun protection EVERY DAY. It is important for you to choose a sunscreen with at least 30 SPF without missing a day of applying it. Even though you are not out in the sun, you should still wear your sunscreen for protection on UV rays that may touch your skin. This will also keep your skin healthier with the ingredients that it includes and should be a part of your daily routine in life!

  • Do use your sunscreen at the right time for the best effect

Whether you are going out or staying at home, it is best to know that there is the right time to use the different types of sun protection products to acquire that full quality that it offers. If you ought to have fun under the sun, it is best to apply sun creams 10-20 minutes before going out. However, sun mists and other sun sprays can be most effective if you apply it just a few minutes before enjoying the heat. On the other hand, if you just prefer to stay within the four walls of your room, it is best if you apply these sun protection products before starting your day to enjoy a worry-free, relaxing day.

  • Do choose the sunscreen that is perfect for your skin type

The last thing that we hope you do is to choose the sun protection product that is perfect for your skin type. We have already discussed in one of our articles that there are various skin types such as normal, oily, dry or a combination if both and each of these require certain types of ingredients that would fit your skin. Though we’re here to tell you that the GWTG Sun Stick is made perfect for all skin types. It has all the ingredients that are safe for all people. So, whether you have a dry or an oily skin, or whether you have a normal skin type or a combination of both dry and oily skin, the best one to use is the GWTG ceramide stick. Make sure that you are mindful of what you put on your face so that you will avoid any acne blemishes on your face!

  • Don’t forget to apply your sunscreen even on the littlest parts of your skin

Yes, you read that right! Do not ever forget to apply your sun protection products on all parts of your skin. We believe that it is already with common knowledge that you must apply your sunscreen on your face, legs and arms. But of course, you should not also forget to apply sunscreen on your lips, on your neck and even at the back of your ears so that you are fully covered from the sun. It is also important to put some sunscreen on the parts of your body which are most exposed to the sun, so don’t you dare miss out this technique! Got it?

  • Don’t be fooled with higher SPF sunscreen

We have already debunked the notion that the higher SPF, the better. And it will ALWAYS remain true as you should not be fooled with a higher SPF sunscreen to get better results for your skin. Sometimes, it is best if you just used the sunscreen with the right amount if SPF in order to conquer the scorching heat of the sun!

  • Don’t use an expired sunscreen

Well, we hope you don’t ever do this for your life’s sake! It must be taken to note that expired sunscreens will not have any effect on your skin. The worse part of it is that using this may actually cause your skin to have more problems and that’s not what we want, right? So, please remember to just throw it away if you see your sunscreen expired already. Besides, it’s not bad to invest in a new one, especially if you’re going to invest it on GWTG Sun Stick!

Sun protection products are really important for us to use, and the GWTG wishes that you follow all these do’s and don’ts so that you’ll easily achieve that shine under the sunshine!
